Terms of Use

SefMar is intended for current university students. You must be at least the minimum age required to enroll in tertiary education in your jurisdiction to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet this requirement.

• You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your profile up to date.
• One account per person. Don’t create an account on someone else’s behalf or share your account with others.

Verification is optional. If you choose to submit a photo of your student ID, our moderation team reviews it to confirm you’re a student at the university you selected. A Verified badge is a signal to other users that we’ve reviewed this, it is not a full background check and does not guarantee the safety, honesty, or reliability of any user, verified or not. You’re responsible for exercising your own judgment in every transaction.

If you change your university after being verified, you’ll need to re-submit verification for the new school, your Verified badge is university-specific and your account moves to Pending review until the new submission is reviewed.

• SefMar is a venue that connects buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users, we do not take ownership of, inspect, or guarantee any item or service listed, and we do not process, hold, or guarantee payment.
• Buyers and sellers are solely responsible for agreeing on price, arranging payment, meeting safely, and completing the exchange. We strongly recommend meeting in public, well-lit campus locations and inspecting items before paying.
• Listings must be accurate. Don’t list items or services you don’t have, don’t own, or can’t provide.
• Prohibited listings include (without limitation): illegal goods or services, weapons, drugs, stolen property, counterfeit goods, academic dishonesty services (e.g. paid assignment/exam completion), and anything that violates university policy or applicable law.
• We may remove any listing, at any time, that violates these Terms or our community guidelines, with or without notice.

Chat is provided so buyers and sellers can coordinate about a listing. Don’t use chat to harass, threaten, scam, or spam other users. Reported chats may be reviewed by our moderation team as part of investigating a report.

You can report a listing, chat, or user that violates these Terms. We review reports and may, at our discretion, warn a user, remove content, suspend an account, or permanently ban an account, depending on the severity and history of the violation. We aim to be fair and proportionate, but enforcement decisions are ultimately ours to make.

You retain ownership of the content you post (listings, photos, messages, profile info). By posting it, you grant SefMar a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and display it within the App as needed to operate the service. You’re responsible for making sure you have the rights to anything you post.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or unsafe behavior, or misuse the App. You may delete your own account at any time from Settings, this permanently and immediately removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

The App is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that listings are accurate, that users will honor their commitments, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SefMar disclaims all warranties, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SefMar and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, or from any transaction, dispute, or interaction between users. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use SefMar after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
